TEXT: "And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word. And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful" (Mark 4:18-19)

I will like to bring to your notice this morning that no prophecy however potent will benefit you if it is not planted in your heart. The word of God will only produce in your life when it is planted in your heart. So, the type of heart you have is what determines the results of the prophetic word spoken. Your heart is your miracle centre. The day your heart is set to receive is the day your miracle will drop.

Another type of heart that hinders one's testimonies is called: THE IMMATURE HEART.

This is how the Amplified Bible describes the above anchor scripture:

“And the ones sown among the thorns are others who hear the Word; Then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless” (Amp).

This type of heart is liken to that of a baby. As we know, babies cry over what they desire and see that they couldn't get. The reason is because they are unable to control their appetite over those things. But when they grow older, they learn to look away even if they so desire it. That is what I call maturity. Maturity makes you not to compare or envy the progress of others. One with immature heart receives the Word; however the cares, worries, distractions and desires for other things are their main focus in life. Like a garden with both plants and weeds, there are only enough nutrients to sustain either the plants or the weeds, not both. And because the weeds grow faster, they choke up the plant.

Someone with immature heart always thinks of riches and pleasure. This is the person after going through the profile of his friends on social media, gets devastated and begins to seek riches even if it is by all means. If doors are opened to such people, they will be carried away by the pleasures of life. Apostle Paul admonished us to attain maturity in Christ by becoming unshakeable by the things around us (Eph 4:13).

Maturity makes you unshakeable in the midst of intimidation from friends and the world. We once had a friend who was "so successful" and very intimidating. If not for our maturity, we would have lost focus and follow the way of perdition. Today the story is not the same, we're not where we used to be.

Beloved, be yourself, move at your pace in life and don't ever envy the wicked. Don't allow the "wealth" of others makes you lose focus in life. Focus on your assignment, your vision and be determined to fulfil it.

PRAYER: You will not lose focus of where God is taking you in life, in Jesus name.

DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I will continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
