TEXT: "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death" (Prov 14:12)
I welcome you to your week of fresh open doors, in Jesus name. Your God and my God shall give you and me surprise testimonies before this week is over, in Jesus name. Every door closed against you shall open this week, in Jesus name.
Open doors are divine opportunities that have the capacity to lift one up above shame, reproach and unpleasant situations of life. However, just because an open door/opportunity comes to you, and it looks appealing and great in your eyes doesn't necessarily mean it is from God. And likewise, just because an open door/opportunity looks a little uncertain, doesn't mean it is not from God. The key is knowing how to discern the ones that are really from God from the one that is not. You don't have to miss those opportunities because you were afraid to take them. Also, you don't have to take every opportunity that comes, assuming it is from God. We need to strike the balance using the word of God.
How do we differentiate open doors that are from God from the ones that are traps of Satan in disguise? When opportunity knocks, how can one tell if it is of the Lord? Can we know with confidence that a door springing open truly is a blessing from God? Or is it temptation from the enemy? Today's anchor scripture says there are ways that seem right to us as humans but they lead to destruction. So, we need to be guided on how to discern God's opportunities. The Bible gives us some principles to help us. Let's examine one of these principles today.
(1) DIVINE OPPORTUNITIES WILL NOT CONTRADICT THE WORD OF GOD:
For instance, a lot of Christians see opportunities to make more money as an open door from God, even if the opportunity means a job that will keep them from regular fellowship in the Church. A job that deprives you from your fellowship with the brethren is not from God because it contradicts the word of God that says we should not neglect meeting together for worship (Heb 10:25). Some ladies believe God opens a door of relationship to them, even if it means being "unequally yoked" with an unbeliever, or having premarital sex which scriptures also warn against (2Cor 6:14; Heb 13:4). To discern divine open doors, ask yourself, is this opportunity in line with scriptural instructions or not?
Beloved, if an opportunity is contrary in any way to principles found in God’s Word, the Bible, it is not what our heavenly Father wants his children to get involved in. If you know your Bible, this is an easy way to discern right opportunities from wrong ones.
So, as you watch out for fresh open doors this week, be wise and be sensitive not to enter the wrong ones!
PRAYER: I see the Holy Spirit leading you this week to a door that will transform your life and destiny forever, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I will continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
