TEXT: "Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice" (Phil 4:4)
As we begin to round up for the month of April 2022, our month of Open Doors, it is important that we examine one of the praise boosters. That is, factor that enhances the flow of praise in our hearts. As I mentioned yesterday, praise to God from a genuine heart has the capacity to open the door of any prison one finds him/herself. It carries in it the power to break any chain of the devil. If you pray and nothing happens, switch over to praise even if you don't feel like it. Today, I want us to examine the force that propels our ceaseless praise and worship unto God irrespective of challenges we face. What is that force?
Joy is the force.
Apostle Paul admonished us in today's anchor scripture said: "Rejoice in the Lord always...."
This is where the avenue through which the devil steals our miracles. He shows you things that are not working so as to rob you of your joy. Beloved, when you are not joyful you cannot be praiseful, when you are not praiseful you cannot be Godful and when you're not Godful you cannot be wonderful. Praise works wonders; the more you are joyful, the more you're praiseful and the more doors of opportunities open for you.
You have to maintain your joy no matter what? Please note that joy is not the same as happiness. Happiness is conditional and temporary, it is subject to outward happenings. It can be influenced by the current state of the mind, but joy on the hand, is everlasting, it is a fruit of the Spirit. Joy doesn’t depend on the amount of money in your bank account and it does not wait for everything to be working fine before it manifests in the life of the possessor.
If you will secure God's Presence, you need to guard your joy; that is what the devil wants to steal from you. It is not your car, your house, your job, but your joy. With joy you can get all those things back even if you lost anyone of them. So, guard your joy with diligence.
Let me quickly mention what happens when you praise God?
1. God dwells with you (Ps 22:3)
God dwells wherever praise is offered and this leads to abundant joy because you find joy in the presence of God (Ps 16:11). Where there is joy, there is fruitfulness and dryness gives way. Dryness connotes among other things famine and poverty. Also, if God is for you, who can be against you (Rom 8:31). When God is with you, the enemy can’t afflict you. Therefore, just as David said, praise God at all times (Ps 34:1).
2. God handles your battles (2Chro 20:22-24)
When you praise the Lord, you transfer your battles to Him. He takes over your battles and completely destroys your enemies. The devil is no match to God Almighty. The enemy, who couldn’t defeat the Angels of God, can’t defeat Him (Rev 12:7-9). Hand over your battles to Him through praise.
3. You are free from captivity (Acts 16:25-34)
Praise unto God will set you free from any bondage you may be in as He did for Paul and Silas. No chain can hold you down at the instance of your heartfelt praise to God.
PRAYER: I pray for you that every yoke of depression to keep you down is broken off your life today, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I will continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
