TEXT: "For a great and effectual door is opened to me, and there are many adversaries" (1Cor 16:9)
There are forces that must be engaged if we will enjoy continuous open doors in life. The reason why we must engage these forces as individual is because there are forces of hell that are confronting us daily with the aim to hinder us from entering into the fresh open door the Lord is giving us. The truth is that to overcome the forces of darkness, we must engage the force of light. The darkness ravaging your life is not the fault of darkness, it is the absence of light in your life.
These forces of light can also be called the Keys of the kingdom. Jesus said: "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven" (Matt 16:19). There are keys that can cause any door to open any day and anytime. Not all keys that open a particular door but the right key. This has been our focus since few days back. One of the keys that can open doors unto us that we have considered so far is the key of Obedience.
Today we shall look at the key of prayer. Prayer can unlock any door because any door that will open to God will open to prayer. There are many adversaries behind that door that is closed against you which requires your prayer to put off. Prayer can force any door to open and prayer can keep it opened. Apostle Paul said, great and effectual door is opened but there are many adversaries. Adversaries are opposition and resistance from the devil and his cohorts against you. But I prophesy this morning that every adversary responsible for the closed door in your life is giving way right now, in the name of Jesus Christ.
The understanding from today's anchor scripture is that every child of God (You and I) is ordained to enjoy not just open door but great and effectual doors. What is this great and effectual door Paul talked about? Great and effectual door speaks of a clear direction as to what to do next. When God opens door for you, you will enjoy divine direction. You will know what to do, when to do and how to do it. Great and effectual door also speaks of divine opportunities, favour, etc. A man who is enjoying open door will never be stranded in life. He will not be deficient of favour or opportunities in life. A man that is enjoying open door will always come in contact with opportunities and favour that will lift his head above his equals in life. These will be your experience from today onwards, in Jesus name.
However, to enjoy these, you must engage in fervent, effectual prayers as James puts it. The book of James says: "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16). If there are many adversaries trying to close your great and effectual door, then you need effectual fervent prayer to put them off your track.
Tomorrow by God's grace, we shall look at how to effectively pray to keep our effectual doors open.
