THE LIMITATION OF MAN TO HELP

TEXT: "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk" (Acts 3:6).

Everyone of us, no matter your race or colour, rich or poor, great or small, needs the help of God. There will be a time when you look right, left and centre and it seems there is no help anywhere. Where do you look to for help in such a time, to man or to the hills? There will be times when the help of man will fail you. No man help you if God does not.

I want you to know that man is helpless to help you because:

(1) MAN IS LIMITED BY HIS POSSESSIONS.
The meaning is, man cannot give what he does not have. He is limited. Peter said silver or gold I have not. You can't give the silver or the gold that you don’t have. "Then Peter said...but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” (Acts 3: 1-7). Man will only give you what he has.

In 2 kings 6:26-27, the King wished to help the woman who came to complain to him for hunger. She had given up her only son to be eaten. The King realised he was in trouble but he could not help. “Then, as the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, “Help, my Lord, O king! And he said, “if the LORD does not help you, where can I find help for you...?” The king was shocked and full of sympathy on hearing her story but still he could not help.

Beloved, you need to bear in mind that man cannot not give you what he does not have the capacity to provide. This is why you and I need the help of God.

PRAYER: Receive the help of God today and always, in Jesus Name.
