TEXT: "Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him" (Matt 4:11).
One channel by which God extend His help to us is through angelic ministration. This is of course provoked through prayers. The story of Peter in the book of Acts chapter 12 illustrates this. When he was kept in prison waiting to be executed, the Church Prayed for him Continually and God sent an angel to rescue him. Beloved, it is your continuous engagement with God on the altar of prayer that makes God's help available via angelic intervention.
Zechariah's predicament was terminated when God sent angel Gabriel to announce his miracle (Luke 1:5-13). Angels are our security agents that excel in strength (Ps 103:20). They are there to ward off all evils and plagues from us. They are the fire fighters of heaven; God’s rescue agents. Their job is to intervene and rescue believers in the midst of trouble. "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways" (Ps 91:11).
They also ensure that only God’s will is established in the life of a believer. They are to minister for us that are heirs of salvation. That is why in today's anchor scripture angels came and ministered to Jesus. "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?" (Heb 1:14). I encourage you this morning to engage the altar of prayer fervently so as to enjoy the helps of God that come through angels.
PRAYER: I pray for you that angels will minister and assist you this month, in Jesus name.
