INFILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

TEXT: "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions" (Joel 2:28).

The prophecies in today's anchor scripture fulfilled on the day of pentecost in the book of Acts chapter 2. The Bible says "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting...And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost."

God had earlier been pouring out His Spirit as drops upon prophets, priests and kings in the Old Testament times to enable them function in their offices. For instance, until Saul was anointed king of Israel, he could not ascend the throne (1Sam 10:1). Elisha could not stand in the prophet’s office until after Elijah had anointed him (1Kings 19:16). But God never intended that gift to be for only a few people the reason He spoke that a time would come when His Spirit would be poured out, not as drops but in His fullness upon all who desire Him. Hallelujah!

Beloved, this infilling of the Spirit comes from a burning desire. John 7:37-38 says: "In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Do you desire the ever abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in your life? This is the hour. Lift your hands and worship God! His Presence in the person of the Holy Spirit will saturate your life now. 

PRAYER: Be filled with the Holy Ghost this moment, in Jesus name.
