TEXT: "And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there;...a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee" (1Kings 3;4-5).
As I mentioned yesterday, there are forces that when consciously activated, they naturally attract God's help to us. Today, we shall look at the force of sacrifice.
Someone said that sacrifice is painful but gainful. Beloved, nothing touches the heart of God like sacrifice. Nothing moves Him to act on our behalf like our sacrifice to Him. Sacrifice goes beyond convenience. It is an offering that touches both the giver and the receiver. God offering Jesus on the Cross for the salvation of the whole world is an epitome of sacrifice.
In your difficult times beloved, I encourage you to apply the force of sacrifice; it dismantles the yoke of afflictions. Sacrifice is something you give to God that is beyond you. Sacrifice is not always about money, you can sacrifice your time, talent, material resources to God and His kingdom. For instance, complaining when rendering service unto God is not a sacrifice, avoid it at all costs so your rewards will not be hindered. If you have spent time to pray, fast, seek the face of God and your situation doesn't change, try giving a sacrificial gift unto God; something painful to you and watch what He would do in your life.
Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings unto God. He did what no king ever did in his days. Giving what is convenient is not sacrifice. It is when you give what is beyond your convenience that makes God look your way to help you in times of needs.
PRAYER: This week, your sacrifices shall come as a memorial to God for undeniable testimonies, in Jesus name.
