THE SOURCE OF POWER

TEXT: "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in  Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:8)

We are in the season of Power and this by implication also means we are in the season of command. A man of power is a man who is in command. To be in command of every circumstance in and around you, it takes power. Few days ago, the Holy Ghost made us to understand that we are redeemed to reign and to rule (5:12). But to reign and to rule in this wicked world, it takes Power. Kings reigns through power. If you are born again, you have been redeemed and as such you are entitled to this Power. To access the Power of God, as pointed out yesterday, it takes new birth - salvation.

I will like you to understand at this juncture that the Power we have been talking about has its source/root in the Holy Spirit. The Bible clearly stated in today's anchor scripture that Power comes when the Holy Spirit comes. "You shall receive Power when the Holy Ghost comes upon you..." This implies that without the Holy Spirit in you, the Power of God cannot be on you. The Holy Spirit is the Power of God in us.

Every time Power is mentioned in the Bible, it is linked to the Holy Spirit. For instance:  in Lk 1:35 the Bible says: "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee..." Also, Acts 10:38 says: "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."

Beloved, if you are yet to be baptised with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, you will do yourself good to open your heart to God for the experience this month because it determines the Power of God in your life.

PRAYER: The Power of the Holy Ghost is coming upon you right now for your dominion over the devil and his agents, in Jesus name!

DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I shall continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
