BENEFITS OF PRAYING IN TONGUES

TEXT: "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries" (1Cor 14:2).

When I said benefits of praying in tongues I mean gains, profits of praying in tongues. Praying in the language of the Holy Ghost is profitable to us as believers. Our Lord and Master Jesus Christ said: "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues" (Mark 16:17). This means praying in tongues is benefitial to us else Jesus wouldn't have mentioned it. One of the signs that we believe in Jesus is that we will speak with new tongues (Mark 16:17).

The NLT puts today's anchor scripture as: "For if your gift is the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking to God but not to people, since they won't be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious."

One thing I want you to know today is that praying in tongues is designed by God to be a supernatural language. It cannot be studied, it cannot be learned or written in any college or university because it is not a natural language. Whenever you speak or pray in tongues, you are speaking to God without interference. The devil cannot understand you; neither can he interfere with or intercept your communication with your Father.

Also, when you pray in tongues, it opens your eyes of understanding to the truth of God’s word. 1Cor 2:12-14 says: “Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” Praying in other tongues helps us grow spiritually in the understanding of God’s word.

What more? When you pray in tongues, you pray according to God’s will. You desire to be in God’s will right? Pray in tongues often. The Bible says: “Likewise the Spirit also helps our weaknesses; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought , but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered" (Rom 8:26). Every utterance prayed in an unknown tongue works together for good to them that love God (Rom 8:27). If you don't know how to pray for something or someone in certain circumstances, pray it in tongues. By that you are guaranteed by the word of God that you are indeed praying according to the will of God. This is why the devil tries so hard to keep us from praying in tongues. But that satanic deception is terminated today and forever, in Jesus name. 

ACTION STEP: Pray in tongues at least 15mins daily from today.

PRAYER: As you pray in tongues today, every confusion concerning any issue in your life is handled by the Holy Spirit for undeniable testimonies, in Jesus name.

DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I shall continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
