TEXT: "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people" (Prov 14:34).

Every child of God is loaded with power both at conversion and at baptism of the Holy Spirit. But many don't exercise this authority over the devil due to certain reasons. I'm led by the Spirit of God to point out some of these reasons today and tomorrow. First and foremost, I want to say that "IGNORANCE" is a barrier to the use of power against the devil and his cohorts. The Bible says: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). To deal with the devil, know that you are carrying the Power of the Holy Spirit that is above all powers.

What other reason that makes believer to fidget before Satan and his cohorts?

SIN: When you make sin your habit, you are sure to come under Satan's authority, and he has legal rights over you until you repent. Jesus said: "Hereafter I will  not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me" (John 14:30). Jesus was without sin, so the devil could not get a foothold in His life. The devil is taking you for a ride because you're toying with sin and he has a legal ground to molest you if you refuse to repent. Sin in itself destroys. The Bible says: "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16). This simply means that Power is given to only the righteous. That is why the Amplified version of it says: "The heartfelt prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available..." You have to be under the authority of God, you have to live a righteous life before you can exercise authority over the devil and his demons. 

It is also important for you to know that if you are rebellious towards your parents, the authority of your Church or towards the leadership in your place of work, you won't have power over the evil ones, you are simply giving them legal ground to operate in your life. So to rule over the devil and put him where he belongs, do away with sin and embrace righteousness. 

PRAYER: Every yoke of sin that has given the devil power to afflict you is broken today, in Jesus name!

TODAY'S ACTION STEP:

* Stop every act of unrighteousness today and ask God for forgiveness. 

DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I shall continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
