TEXT: "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people" (Prov 14:34).

Every child of God is loaded with power both at conversion and at baptism of the Holy Spirit. But many don't exercise this authority over the devil due to certain reasons. I'm led by the Spirit of God to point out some of these reasons today and tomorrow. First and foremost, I want to say that "IGNORANCE" is a barrier to the use of power against the devil and his cohorts. The Bible says: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). To deal with the devil, know that you are carrying the Power of the Holy Spirit that is above all powers.

Still on the subject of giving that I briefly mentioned yesterday, I want to throw more light on it. As pointed I out yesterday, before you can lay hold to the power to receive, you have to first possess the power to lay down. Jesus said that He had power to lay down His life and power to take it up (John 10:18). Giving and receiving is a covenant. Giving always comes before receiving. Another effective way to release the Power of God against all oppositions is by taking cover in the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus is called the blood of the New Covenant which has the capacity to free all prisoners of the devil. "After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me" (1Cor 11:25). When I said benefits of praying in tongues I mean gains, profits of praying in tongues. Praying in the language of the Holy Ghost is profitable to us as believers. Our Lord and Master Jesus Christ said: "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues" (Mark 16:17). This means praying in tongues is benefitial to us else Jesus wouldn't have mentioned it.

It is important that I point out at this juncture some of the benefits we enjoy as children of God when we pray in tongues. To operate in Power, baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues is a must. Looking at the lives of the early Church, one will understand that praying in tongues makes tremendous Power available to us. The early Church were a praying Church and how great and mighty things they were able to achieve through prayer. Even when they became very busy in ministry, they did not allow business to get in the way of prayer.
