TEXT: "I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee" (Lk 15:18)

If you will experience multiple celebrations this year and beyond, you must return to God. In Luke 15:17-24, we see that the season of celebration of the prodigal son began the day he returned back to his father in sincerity of heart and in genuine repentance.

God's word to you this morning is simple. Do you want to experience multiple celebrations in your life this year? Then all you have to do is to sincerely and genuinely return to God in all the ways you have strayed from Him. You need to put an end to the jealousy, malice, bitterness, unforgiveness, gossip and backbiting in your life. You need to get up from every bed of sexual immorality and adulterous relationship (1Pet 2:11). You need to return to prayer, worship, the Word and close fellowship with your Heavenly Father (Hos 6:1-2). These are the things that could stand as a barrier to your portion of the multiple celebrations.

For as long as the prodigal son was away from his father, he was experiencing a season of dryness. But the moment he genuinely repented, he was brought out of that dry season to a season of celebration. The father of the prodigal son did some very important things which are symbolic of what God does to us when we repent and our broken fellowship with Him is restored. Luke 15:22 tells us that the father put on the best robe on his son, he put a ring on his finger, he put sandals on his son’s feet, he killed the fattened calf for a feast in honour of his son (I will expansiate on this tomorrow God's grace).

For every person who will come to his senses and say I can’t continue to live this way, I can’t continue to live in sin, I can’t continue to be so far away from my Heavenly Father, God is set to put a robe on him/her. God is set to take away the garment of sin and the garment of shame he/she is wearing and clothe him/her with a robe of righteousness and honour (Zech 3:3-5).This is the finest robe anyone can wear this year that’s why the Bible says the best robe was put on the son. It is a robe that brings joy and celebration to a person’s life (Isaiah 61:10).

PRAYER: I pray for you from my heart this morning, that filthy garment of shame, reproach and sin is removed from you today, in Jesus name.

DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I will continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
