JESUS, THE HEALER

TEXT: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised" (Luke 4:18)

I did mention few days ago that our God specializes in healing the brokenhearted. This can be seen in the above anchor scripture. If you are brokenhearted today for whatever reason, Jesus is healing you right now. All of us, regardless of how spiritual we are, will experience moments when due to betrayals, misunderstanding, or bitterness, will be knocked down and left devastated. I'm sure you can relate with what I'm saying this morning. And as a leader you are definitely not left out. I tell you, these moments can be frustrating - I've been there, so I know what I'm saying. The Bible says, “The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?” (Pro 18:14). Man can endure much of physical affliction, the body also can fall back upon the support of the spirit when it is distressed and weakened; but when the spirit itself is broken, grieved or wearied, it is bound to bring us down.

Therefore, you must know that there will come a time in your life when you will be wounded. People will hurt you, walk out on you, and some will even try to tarnish your image. You can try to be strong, brush it off and act like it’s just one of those crosses you must bear, but the truth is, it hurts. Jesus Himself suffered rejection and betrayal by those closest to him. In John chapter six, the Bible says that many of Jesus’ disciples turned back from Him. He then asked the twelve that were closest to him, “Will you also go away?” Will you abandon me as well? Even Peter on the other hand, denied him three times, and that was the moment Jesus needed him the most.

My beloved, the hurts will come, but it is how you deal with the wounds that determines your destiny. Many people hurt other people back in an attempt to justify their own hurts. Don't be one. Healing comes to you today in Jesus name.

DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I will continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
