TEXT: "Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul" (Acts 27:11).

Today, I want us to see something interesting from the book of Acts, the 27th chapter. In this chapter, we see one of the many difficulties Paul had to face and endure in his life. As he was being taken to Rome as a prisoner, he had warned the guards that it was not safe for them to sail but they chose to disregard Paul's warning and sailed.

There are three questions we must ask and answer ourselves that help to survive any storm in life. If you are able to provide answers to these questions, then you will never consider quitting. They are:

(1) What caused this to happen?
(2) What does God want me to learn?
(3) How does God want me to respond in this situation?

Let's look at the first question today.

(1) What caused this storm? There are four different causes of storms in our lives.

(a) Self: Most of the problems we encounter are caused by ourselves. This is what Yorubas called "Afowo fa."
(b) Man could be responsible for the storm we experience.
(c) The devil is at work.
(d) God can also allow it due to our disobedience.

When you are going through a storm in life, you must learn to pray and seek the face of God. Learn to talk to God about it. Ask Him why? In Psalm 73, David could not know why it appeared that the wicked are prospering. But he got his answer when he went into the sanctuary. That's why I hate to miss church, so that I won't miss the answer I need.

PRAYER: I pray that you will not miss the answer you need to come out of that situation this week, in Jesus name!
