TEXT: "And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you" (Matt 28:7).
The angel told Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to tell the disciples to meet Jesus in Galilee. What was the significance of their meeting in Galilee? Why did the disciples had to take a road trip after Easter to Galilee? The below revelations will help us to understand.
(1) The first thing the disciples did when they saw the resurrected Jesus was to worship Him. Jesus did these to clear their doubt. God is calling us to meet Him in Galilee because sometimes, like the disciples, we doubt God, forget who He is and we don’t worship Him like we should. We doubt who He is, what He’s capable of doing, and what He is going to do. Galilee reminds us that worship replaces doubt.
(2) Luke 24:52-53 says that after the disciples worshiped Jesus, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Their trip to Galilee changed their lives. When we meet Jesus in Galilee we come back changed people. A change is taking place in your life right now!
(3) The fact that Jesus was standing there in front of the disciples and not still laying in the tomb showed them that "All Power" was given to Him. Jesus was also telling them that He is alive. There may be things that are dying in your life, and maybe you think they’re already dead. If it’s dying, Jesus the All-powerful can revive it. If it’s dead He can resurrect it. Going to Galilee symbolizes that we believe that God is all-powerful and can resurrect things.
PRAYER: I pray for you today, everything dead in and around your life is coming back to life, in Jesus name.
