TEXT: "Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me" (Psalms 54:4 NIV).
King David’s enemies wanted him to fall so they could rejoice over him. They wanted to bring him to a point where he would sit down and simply give up. That may be your case this morning. I want you to learn a lesson from David who drew His strength from God. He could say with confidence 'Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me."
You may, at times, feel as if the battle is too much, as though you cannot go on. At this point of your life, go to the Lord, who will help you and strengthen you. Just look at how loving and caring God is towards you in Isaiah 46:4 (NIV): “I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” The word ‘sustain’ in Hebrew is "samak" which means to hold up, to lean upon or to lay one’s hand upon and strengthen. It is the Lord who sustains you. It is the Lord to whom you go to for your every need and it is He who lays His hand upon you, to uphold you and to strengthen you. David experienced many trials and shortcomings in his life, yet he could say "Surely God is my help..."
Beloved, when you go through times of difficulty, trials and shortcoming, you can still be victorious if you keep your eyes on Jesus and draw your strength from Him. What you go through today, you will not go through tomorrow because they will not last forever. God can, and will, turn things around for you. Meditate on Psalm 46:1.
This is where we shall draw the curtain for this month. Send us your testimony of victory via our WhatsApp number above or morningteaprayerline@gmail.com
PRAYER: I pray for you that the Hand of God will uphold you. You will not fail or fall in Jesus name!
