TEXT: "Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. (James 1:2 NLT).

When you're going through challenges in life, another key that helps to turn those challenges to stare of victory is to Count It All Joy. James had a great insight on how to overcome battles and storms in life. He was simply saying to you and me this morning to be joyful in times of trials, temptations and difficulties that come our way. Nehemiah tells us the reason why? He said: "...for the joy of the Lord is your strength" (Neh 8:10).

The truth is that you lose strength when you lose your joy. Without strength, you can't overcome adversities. The Bible says: "If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small" (Prov 24:10). So, when you encounter challenges, that is the time to start rejoicing, not for the storm, but that victory is sure. Apostle Paul said, "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!" (Phil. 4:4). He wrote the above word from prison! He had learned that the step to Victory is to be joyful always.

Faith is best proven by how joyful you are in times of difficulties. I encourage you this morning to rejoice "Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing (Jam 1:3-4).
Rather than blaming God, man or even yourself for the storm in your life, count it all joy. Rejoice in the Lord. To be joyful is to be strengthened. When you are strengthened, you will be able to gain victory over the adversity. To quit is to be defeated.

PRAYER: I pray that the joy of the Lord that produces the required strength to overcome all challenges of life shall envelop you today and always, in Jesus name!
