TEXT: "Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me! "But you ask, 'What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?' "You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me." (Mal 3:8 - NLT)
Those who know my style of message will tell you that tithe is one of the subject I seldom talk about. This is because what the word of God presents to us has been made complex by some people to suit their logical reasoning. The word of God must not be watered down simply because that part of scriptures is against our reasoning. I had to obey the voice of God to still shed more light on the subject of tithe because it determines what happens to the windows of heaven over us. So, beloved, put aside what you have read or heard about tithe and open up your spirit to what the Spirit of God wants to say this morning.
If you want to know what is truly important to a man, look at where he spends his money. The word of God teaches us that if you love God, then you will obey His commandments. Tithe is one of the commandments of God in scripture. The way you use your money will reflect your love for God or lack of it. God wants you to manage what you have for His glory; your time, talent, body and resources and give back to Him a portion of what He has given you.
One of the irreversible laws of receiving tangible blessings from God is the law of tithing. God asks us to give one tenth of our income to Him as a proof of our faith and thanksgiving. If you want God to be involved in your finances, you must honour Him with your tithe. When you give God one tenth of your income, what you have done is that you have created the platform and space for more blessings to flood your life. Man is wired by God to operate on the law of giving and receiving; demand and supply, sowing and reaping, planting and harvesting, etc. You can never be neutral about these laws. Just the way you cannot breathe in oxygen without first breathe out carbon dioxide you can not reach the height God set for you financially without the law of giving and receiving which includes tithing.
Beloved, it is time for you to prove God and consistently do so with your tithe and see what God will do in your finances.
God promises some dimension of His blessings in Malachi 3:10-12 when you obey Him with your tithe. Let me mention just two of these blessings. Firstly, when you pay your tithe, you are proving that God is your Source and not your salary or the business you do and secondly, it enables you prove God to do what He says He would do in your finances.
Let me conclude by saying that tithing is a spiritual discipline we all need to develop. It must be practiced consistently and not a one time thing. If you neglected to pay tithes in the past, please forget what you owe God because you can never repay Him. Obey God starting from today.
PRAYER: As you practice this law, I see God protecting and preserving your finances from robbers and devourers, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I will continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
