TEXT: "And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily..." (Luke 18:7-8)
Another covenant step to speedy answers to prayer as we begin a new week is called: Persistence. We must persist on the altar of prayer if we will see the answers. Daniel persisted for 21 days before his answer came. (Dan 10:12). Many people today give up too soon. I encourage you to stay on the altar of prayer to the point of answers. Elijah on Mount Carmel persisted in prayer until rain came down (1Kings 18:41-46). You give up too soon the reason you don't see answers to your prayers. Don't quit praying simply because you haven't seen answers you expected.
To persist is to hold firm. God wants us to hold firm to His promises while praying. He rewards persistence. The Judge in today's anchor scripture responded to the widow's request because persisted. The judge says in verse 5: "Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming (persistence) she weary me." Jesus concluded said: "I tell you that he (God) will avenge them (the elect that call Him day and night) speedily."
Pls don't let disappointments or delay cause you to give up praying. Keep asking until the answer is given (John 4:24). Most of the time, the greatest discouragement often comes just before the answer arrives. You must guard against it and pray until you see answer. It is often seems darkest before the dawn. Don't give up praying, you're closer to your answers than before.
PRAYER: There shall be harvest of answers to your prayers this week, in Jesus name.
