TEXT: "Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not" (James 4:2)

As I mentioned yesterday, the beauty of any prayer is the answer that comes after it. Prayer without answers is discouraging and frustrating. So, I want us to continue as we look at the second covenant step that guarantees answers to prayers. After locating the relevant scriptures that assure your answers, don't stop there. The next step is:

(2) ASK: After locating relevant scriptures that that address your need, what you now need to do is to ask God. Don't assume that God knows even if He does. Lots of people assume that and because of this, they don't ask. Note! You are to ask and not to complain. You have not because you ask not (Jam 4:2). Don't mistake your complain to prayer. What is it that you want from God? Be specific in your asking.

Dr. Paul Cho blessed memory said that many years ago when South Korea was poor, he asked God for a bicycle. Back then a bicycle was a big thing. Several months had passed, but he had not received the bicycle. Finally he asked the Lord why it was taking so long for Him to answer this prayer. The Lord answered, "Son, you didn't tell Me what kind of bicycle you wanted. There are many different brands, different colours, and different manufacturers. Be specific. What kind of bicycle do you want?"

Beloved, be specific in your requests. Jesus question to the blind man in Mark 10:42-52 was: "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus never assumed to know his need. Don't assume that God knows what you need. Tell Him exactly what you need and I bet you, He will answer you.

PRAYER: Your prayers shall return as tangible answers this month, in Jesus name.
