TEXT: "For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off" (Prov 23:18)

One tragedy that happens to many people who pray without results is lack of expectation. What you expect is what you will see irrespective of hours you spent praying. If you expect instant answer, later answer or no answer, that is what you will see. The truth is, no matter what you are going through right now, there is an end to it only if you expect that to happen. "And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, EXPECTING to receive something of them" (Acts 3:4-5). This man asked and also expected. His expectation was met with greater blessing, he was healed, never to beg again.

In Acts chapter 12 is a story of when Peter was arrested, jailed and awaiting execution. The church gathered together to pray for his release. Peter was released but the response of the people praying showed they were not actually expecting God to answer the prayer. The Bible says: "And when he(Peter) had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying. And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. And they said unto her, THOU ART MAD. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, IT IS HIS ANGEL. But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished" (Acts 12:12-16).

Beloved, expect your answers to drop this month. Don't postpone it with your lack of expectation. Your action or inaction after praying which is a product of your expectation will either deliver the answer you need or hinder it. Be expectant today because the answer you need will come suddenly!
