TEXT: "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God" (Phil 4:6)
One and probably last covenant step that guarantees answers to prayers is "Thanksgiving/Praise." We may pray amiss but we can never thank or praise God amiss. In fact, the best and the fastest way to bring God to any issue of concern in your life is to thank and praise Him. Until we give thanks and praise God, the covenant steps to answered prayer is not complete. When we thank and praise God for what He has done, we are reminding Him of what remains.
Jesus, who is our perfect example in the subject of answered prayers shows us that thanksgiving is a one, if not the most important step to get our prayers answered. We saw thanksgiving as His lifestyle. A number of striking miracles in His (Christ) ministry was triggered by thanksgiving. Example is the feeding of five thousand men with five loaves of bread and two fishes and the raising of Lazarus (Matt 14 & John 11)
I'll like you to read the testimony of this Pastor because testimonies are the best interpreters of scriptures. This Pastor was on his way back from a trip when he suddenly noticed that smoke was coming out from the bonnet of his car. He rushed out of the car to open the bonnet, lo and behold, fire has engulfed the entire car. Instead of the Pastor to find a way to quench the fire, he managed to open the car door, picked up his Bible and started singing and dancing around the burning car. People gathered to see what was happening.
Among the onlookers was a man who approached the Pastor and asked why he was singing instead of crying. The Pastor answered: "His praise must continually be in my mouth, this situation notwithstanding." The man gave the Pastor his complimentary card and told him to come to his office. When he got to his office the following day, he gave the Pastor a key to a Pathfinder jeep. Praise attracted God into that situation.
Learn to thank and praise God, your situation notwithstanding and God will show up. I want to advise that you thank and Praise God more than you ask Him the remaining days of this month!
PRAYER: As you thank and praise Him, your answers shall come speedily, in Jesus name.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS FOR THIS SEASON: You will not end this year empty, in Jesus name.
