There is lack of consistency in the lives of many believers today, especially in prayer. So many of us want our prayers to be answered instantly, but what we don't understand is that for us to enjoy instant and continuous answers to our prayers, it requires our consistency. Before I continue with thanksgiving and praise as one of the covenant steps to answered prayers, I will like to mention one important step today. I struggled within me whether to share this or not but the Holy Ghost prompted me to. He said there are company of people that before they pray God answers them. This is the category a woman in Shunem in the days of Elisha belonged to. She had a problem that money could not solve. She must have spent money to tackle this problem but to no avail. Perhaps, she had prayed too but answers were not in view. What was the problem? She had no child. But she did that which provoked her answers. Perhaps this secret could hold the answer to your situation this season.

One and probably last covenant step that guarantees answers to prayers is "Thanksgiving/Praise." We may pray amiss but we can never thank or praise God amiss. In fact, the best and the fastest way to bring God to any issue of concern in your life is to thank and praise Him. Until we give thanks and praise God, the covenant steps to answered prayer is not complete. When we thank and praise God for what He has done, we are reminding Him of what remains.

I have discovered that many people have woken up to the reality that they need to pray while many others are praying but the unfortunate thing is that only few of those who pray know how to provoke the release of their answers. What is the need of the effort we put into prayer when we don't know how to provoke the release of our answers? The Holy Spirit wants to open our eyes further to one very important covenant step to answerred prayer that many have neglected. This step is stated in our anchor scripture above called "The spirit of Joy." To be delighted is to be excited/joyful.

As we round up for the week, I will like to point out another very important covenant step to effective prayer which is (8 ) Right Motive. We must deal with our motives if God would answer our prayers. You ask and receive not because you did not ask but partly because you ask with the wrong motive - that you may consume it upon your lusts. Wrong motive makes one to pray amiss and when your prayer is not in line with God's plan for your life, He will deny you the answer. Even if you put to work all the steps discussed so far, when your request is contrary to God's plan for your life, the prayer will not receive a favourable response from heaven.

Another covenant step that we must not overlook if we will receive answers to prayers is Right Thinking. Hear me! No matter how violent you are in your prayer altar, if your thought is not in line with the answer you're expecting, your prayer is just an exercise in futility. You must align your thought pattern to the answers you are thanking God for for you to see the manifestation.
