Isaiah 41:1 "Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment."
"And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a 'sound' of abundance
of rain" (1Kings 18:41). Elijah said there is a sound of abundance of rain. This simply means he heard the sound of rain. The lesson I want us to learn from this statement is that it takes our sensitivity to hear what God is saying and the direction He is leading.
During the season of drought, only Elijah was attentive enough to hear the sound of rain and what God had to say concerning the situation. God always has something to say to you in every situation you find yourself. But you need to be attentive to hear what He has to say in that situation. The truth is, you will always here a voice in every situation, either from God or the devil, negative or positive. So, what do you hear concerning that concerns of your life?
In today's text, God through Prophet Isaiah revealed the secret on how to hear His voice when going through difficult situation. He said "Keep silence before me..." This is important because you can't hear God when you are always talking. A word from God always comes from behind and it will take your quietness to hear it (Isaiah 30:21).
Beloved, it is high time you shut yourself in against every noise that does not inspire. What you read on social media is causing more harm than good to your faith. Be diligent enough to hear from God. Elijah heard a sound of abundance of rain while others heard otherwise. Be attentive and the way out will be revealed.
PRAYER: I pray for you today, you will hear good news this week, in Jesus name.
