John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
One of the factors that is required to enjoy God's exceeding favour this month and always is, your love for God. Apostle Paul said: "Grace (favour) be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen" (Eph 6:24). You can't love God and not enjoy favour. But what are the proofs of one's love for God?
Obedience to God and His Word is the number one proof of your love for Him. Jesus said: “If you love me, keep my commandments." You can’t love God and be disobedient to His commands. Jesus is our perfect example. He proved His love for the Father by obeying all His instructions, even to the point of death on the cross (Phil 2:8). His primary assignment on earth was to carry out the plan and purpose of God for man, which He completed successfully by His unreserved obedience (John 19:30).
God demands that we obey Him as commanded, not as convenient. He showed an example for us by sacrificing His only son. And on the cross for the first time, He forsook His son because of our sin (Matt 27:46). It certainly was not convenient for God but He did it for the love He has for us.
It is not enough to obey God but your obedience must be total. God will not accept half commitment from you, which is why He said He prefers you being cold or hot and not lukewarm (Rev 3:15-16). To prove your love for God, be obedient to His instructions. The more
obedient you are to God, the more you increase in His favour. People who are disobedient don't walk
in favour. When you hear God's instructions, don't hesitate, be
quick to obey and you'll walk in a greater dimension of the favour of God.
PRAYER: Grace for tireless obedience is yours today, in Jesus name.
