One of the conditions that you and I must meet for the exceeding favour of God to be released is our unreserved love for God. The Bible says: "Grace (that is favour) be with all them that 'love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity.' Amen" (Eph 6:24)

However, it is not enough to say we love God, there must be proofs of our love for Him. This we started to examine since yesterday. 

From scriptures, we discover that giving is one of the ways we can express our love. You cannot have true love for someone and not give to the person. So also, you cannot love God and not give to Him and for the advancement of His kingdom. Giving to Him is a proof of your love for Him. If you love Him, you will give without being coerced to do so. It will be a thing of Joy for you to do so.

God first loved us and gave His only Son for us all (1John 4:19). And He had promised that if He could give His only Son then, there is nothing He cannot freely give us (Rom 8:32). Love is a giver and if you love God you must be a giver too. God expects you to give willingly, cheerfully and bountifully, according to what you have and not according to what you don’t have (2Cor 9:6-7; 8:12). It is a test of the sincerity of your love for Him (2Cor 8:3-8).

The love of God is a giving love. You don’t increase by what you keep; you increase by what you give. So, you are not blessing anyone by your giving, you are simply proving your love for God and giving Him opportunity to bless you in return. When the love of God overwhelms you, giving becomes a natural lifestyle. And love is what empowers you to lay down the unimaginable for the flow of favour in your direction. 

PRAYER: I pray that we shall be counted worthy of exceeding favour this month and always, in Jesus name.
