1 Pet 5:5 "Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."

One of the parasites that creep into our lives unaware is "PRIDE."

God is committed to resisting the proud and favour the humble. Yes, it is possible for God Himself to resist the progress and promotion of an individual when he/she is proud. 

Is God not a good God? Sure He is. How then could He be opposing someone? Is that what you are asking? Well, God is good, but according to His word, He opposes certain group of people. He said in Isaiah 13:11b "...and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible." God opposes the proud. When pride takes its place in the life of an individual, he/she will experience resistance from God.

The reason most people are labouring with nothing to show is because God is actively resisting them due to their arrogance. Pride is the most common cause of stagnation in life. This plague won't hold you down in Jesus name. What is pride? We shall define it by examining its symptoms.

(1) Feeling that you are better than others: This is very rampant among Christians. When you have the feeling of knowing more than everyone else and refusing to receive from other people, beloved, you are proud and God will see that you don't attain to your goal and desires in life. So, repent!

(2) The inability to listen to others is another sign of pride. If you can’t be silent during a conversation with another, it is a sign of pride. We miss it when we think we know it all and fail to get input from other people. Beware of PRIDE!

PRAYER: You will not be a victim of pride, in Jesus name.
