Gen. 39:1-6; Eccl. 9:11; Psalms 11:3.
Success is
not in what you have as in who you have. We started in our last lesson the
materials needed to lay a good foundation for a long-lasting success. One of
them as mentioned in the previous lesson is “Your relationship with God” Now let’s continue from point number
2.
·
DEVELOP A READING HABIT. Deut. 17:19.
We must know that a reader today is a leader tomorrow. We are told by
educationists that 6-10% of what we hear
stays with us, while 20-25% of what we
read stays with us. No wonder God’s word declared in Deut. 17:19 above are
worth noting. You can’t succeed beyond the knowledge you have. Reading is not
an option if you must live a life of success. If you look at the scriptures
carefully, you will discover that David had understanding on how to carry the
Ark of God after the death of Uzzah the priest by reading and searching.
(2Sam.6)
·
HAVE A GODLY MENTOR. 1Kings 12:6-19.
In laying a solid foundation for a long-lasting success, you
must mind who mentors you. Your mentor makes you. The man you follow will
definitely determine your final destination. Who then is a mentor?
1. A mentor is a giver of advice. Who do
you take advice from? Your adviser will determine your advancement in life.
2. A mentor is someone you draw
inspiration from. Who inspires you? Is he/she an achiever, a success
personified? Think about it.
3. A mentor can also be termed as a role
model.
Hmmm, Pastor, I don’t have
a mentor and I don’t want to have. I just want to be myself because God created
me unique. Well the benefits of having a mentor are:
a. It makes success cheap.
b. It helps you to avoid a pitfall.
c. It gives you an example to emulate.
Think of
what have been said and don’t hesitate to contact me for any spiritual help. Make
it a date with us tomorrow for the continuation. Father I pray for the reader
of today that the success he/she desires shall manifest for the earnest
expectation of creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of GOD. Thank
you Father for hearing me IN JESUS NAME and let me hear your AMEN.
Amen!
