2 Timothy 1:6-7.
We said yesterday that many are shying away from
speaking about prosperity. I believe in prosperity and I believe you do. It is
in God’s agenda for the Church of the end time to prosper. The reason is
because, through prosperity shall the kingdom of God be preached (Zach. 1:17).
We should not be tired of speaking about it, because what you speak always is a
product of what you believe in, isn’t it? The Bible says
we should hold fast
our profession (confession) without wavering (Hebrews 10:23). In addition, what you say is what you become.
Prosperity is not a natural thing. It is a product of the
empowerment of the Holy Ghost. You must not approach it casually lest you end
up as a casualty. Prosperity is a spirit. It takes a spiritual mind to
understand the things of the spirit. To a canal man, he cannot understand those
things that are been freely given to us, among which is prosperity
(1Cor.2:9-16). When you hear of prosperity, many have so reduce prosperity to
money. I hope you are not part of those ones. A look at the Bible makes us to
understand that God’s will for us to prosper is in three fold. To know the
three fold of prosperity God wishes for us, check our previous sharing.
What are these three gifts of God to us to live
prosperously? This will be our focus today.
For God has not given
us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2
Tim.1:7). These three but powerful pillars must be taken note of if you
must live in prosperity.
·
POWER “For
God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power…” Prosperity is a function of power. Until you are empowered,
you cannot prosper consistently. Prosperity does not answer to skill,
calculated steps or your position. It only answers to POWER. This power is
gradually fading away from the Church. Now we are left with noise and photocopy
in the name of demonstrating the power of God. My dear, it takes power to
prosper in God’s way. How God anointed
Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good…?
(Acts 10:38).
·
LOVE
“For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love...” The Holy Ghost, which is given to us, sheds the love of God
abroad in our heart (Rom.5:5). It takes love to give productively. Love must be
the motive behind your given. Do not give because you want to receive. King
Solomon did not offer a sacrifice to God because he wanted something from Him.
He offered sacrifice to God to show his gratitude to Him. Until you are giver,
you cannot be a receiver. Your love for God’s work prompts you to give to support
it. In addition, do not give because you have more than enough to spare. God
does not measure your given by the gift, but by how much is left.
·
A SOUND
MIND “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of
love, and of a sound mind” Many are
poor today because of their poverty of mind (Read 3John2). Prosperity or poverty
is a product of our mindset (Prov.23:7). Until you prosper mentally, your
prosperity cannot be visible. Let your mind be renewed by the word of God as
regards prosperity (Rom.12:2). A sound mind will receive ideas from God on how
to prosper. Do not give money to someone who has dull mind. He will misuse it.
The story of a Prodigal son in Luke 15 attests this truth. Meditate on God’s
word daily in line with the prosperity that God desires for you. Remember, your
speech is a product of what goes on in your mind. Out of the abundance of heart, the mouth speaketh (Matt.12:34). Show me a man of a sound
mind, and I will show you by his speech. Prosperity is a product of a sound
mind. In addition, poverty also is a product of a dull mind.
