ANOINTING FOR SUCCESS 4

ACTS 1:8; LUKE 4:18.

Success is not a product of hard work, skill or experience, though they are good qualities. Success is basically the product of the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon a man. There are many that are skillful, hard working and yet not successful. As we journey together on this subject matter, we shall be looking at what success is. God’s way of measuring success is different

from the way the world measures it.

We’ve been talking about the need for this anointing, its significance and the benefits. Someone might be asking how to receive this very important gift from God. This will be our focus for today’s lesson.

I want you to know that this gift has been given right from the day of Pentecost. All that is required from us is to receive what has been given. Many are still begging God to send the anointing. God won’t send it(Him) because He has sent(it) Him from the day of Pentecost. How do I receive this anointing?

·        DESIRE IT – Mark 11:23-24; Matt. 5:6. I must tell you that what you don’t desire you don’t deserve. You must have strong desire for God’s anointing on you. When you hunger and thirst for it, it will come. Your desire will help you in the next point.

·        ASK FOR IT – Zech. 10:1-2. What you desire must be made known to God. The Bible says ask and you shall receive – Matt.7:7. What you don’t ask shows an indication that you don’t want it. Let your request be genuine.

·        BY CONTACT – 2Kings 2:1-14. You can contact anointing from the anointed one. It can be imparted from one anointed man to another as in the case of Elijah and Elisha. But to benefit from this medium, you must take note of these:

1.     Desire the anointing upon the anointed – 2Kings 2:1-14.

2.     Believe in him/her. – 2Chro. 20:20.

3.     Don’t take any encounter with him/her for granted. Either through tapes, TV, books e.t.c.
