TEXT: "And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth" (1Kings 18:1)
Welcome to the last week of October, our month of Divine Possibilities. My prayer for you and for every lover of MTD is that all impossible situations of your life shall be possible before this month/year is over, in Jesus name.
Today, I want to emphasize again on the connection between divine instructions and divine possibilities. No one follows divine instructions and not end as possibilitarian. But I want to let you know that God's instructions that will solve our problems most times are not connected to our needed solution (Jn 2:5). In today's anchor scripture, God told Elijah to go show himself to Ahab! What has that got to do with sending rain to end the drought in the land at the time? But Elijah obeyed.
Divine instructions is always foolishness to man's senses but when obeyed, solution is the end product.
I want to ask again this morning just as I asked before, what are the instructions of God to you? Have you obeyed them or you are watching and contemplating whether to obey or not because you feel it's not connected to the situation at hand? Perhaps, you are not taking steps in obedience to that instruction because it is not in line with what you expect, like Naaman?
"So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean" (2Kings 5:9-10). Just like that?
Remember, divine instructions are always foolishness to man's senses.
What was Naaman's response?
"But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper" (2Kings 5:11).
How many are like Naaman today? Hear me child of God, God has more than one million ways to end the drought in your life right now. So, stop questioning His methods. His instructions may not make sense to you, just obey.
Thank God for Namaan's servant who prevailed on his master.
"Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean" (2Kings 5:14).
Don't be a victim of disobedience to divine instructions. Remember, God's instructions are always foolishness to man's senses. Carry out that instruction because in it is your possibility power lies.
PRAYER: Receive grace for prompt and delightsome obedience for the impossible to be made possible in your life and destiny, in Jesus name.
DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I shall continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
