John 2:5 "His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it."
Your regard or disregard for anointed of God will either facilitate answers to your prayer or hinder it. The story of the wedding at Cana is relevant here. After the wine was exhausted, and the mother of Jesus wanted Jesus to come to their rescue, she told the servants at the wedding to do whatever Jesus said to them. When Jesus eventually decided to help, the servants did what He told them to do and water turned into wine - prayer answered (John 2:1-10).
The truth is, if they didn’t have regard for Him, the miracle wouldn’t have taken place. How much you esteem a servant of God determines how much of the anointing of God upon Him will bless you. That doesn’t mean you should worship any man of God. From the story we read yesterday, the anointing of God upon Elisha blessed the people of Jericho. How you position yourself in relation to the anointed servant of God determines whether you will be blessed by his anointing or not.
At Nazareth, Jesus couldn’t help them because they were too familiar with Him. They knew when He was a small boy and grew up in their midst (Mark 6:3). Because of the attitude of the people of Nazareth, Jesus could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them (Mark 4:5).
Could it be because you're despising the anointed of God that your prayers are not receiving attention from heaven? Examine yourself today.
PRAYER: The anointing of God on His anointed will work for you this day, in Jesus name.
