1Kings 18:42 "...And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast  himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees."

I want you to know that prayer and fasting is not to punish us, but to furnish us. It is a covenant platform for the fulfilment of our glorious destiny in Christ.

2: PRAYER AND FASTING FACILITATES FULFILMENT OF PROPHECIES

We pray and fast prophecies to speedy fulfilment. There are certain oppositions to fulfilment of prophecies that will never surrender except by prayer and fasting. "Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word" (1Kings 17:1).

Elijah spoke as he was commanded by God, yet, he did not wait idly for the prophetic word to be fulfilled. Rather, he engaged in spiritual warfare and prayers for its fulfilment.

It was written in James 5:17-18 that "Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain…." He didn’t just speak, he engaged in prayers to see the Word fulfilled. Prophecies may lie fallow forever, if you don't pray them into fulfilment. This is one of the reasons for this exercise.

We are not fasting just to be without food; rather, we fast by standing in His presence and praying our lives into next levels (Luke 9:29).

PRAYER: Receive grace to maximize this great prophetic season for your next level manifestation in Jesus name!
