Psalms 5:12 "For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield."
In today's text, God promises and determines to bless the righteous. By scriptural alignment, this is His agenda for us in the MTD Family this month of October. How will He bless us this month? He will bless us by surrounding us with favour. However,
what qualifies us for His favour is righteousness.
Take note of what I want to point out at this juncture! Righteousness is not a state of doing right, it is a state of being right. It is not something you earn, it is a gift of God. And you do you know what!? Until you live right you cannot do right. Doing right with the hope to be right with God is what the Bible call self-righteousness which is like a filthy rag before God (Isaiah 64:6).
It is not your right doing that qualifies you to be right with God, but your right being. It is your being right that energizes you to do right. If you don't live right, your best doings cannot qualify you for His favour. You are only qualified for His favour on the account of your being right with Him through His Son Jesus Christ by embracing Him as your Lord and Saviour.
So, it is salvation that enlists you for His favour. He has promised to bless the righteous with favour this month. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord, now is the time, tomorrow may be too late.
