Psalms 41:1-2 "Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies."

I want you to know that giving can provoke God's favour. We have
instances in the Bible where giving provoked God to do unusual things. “A man’s gift maketh room for him and bringeth him before great men" (Pro18:16). Gift in this context is what you give to benefit another person. This act has the capacity to bring favour.

There are three areas of giving that can provoke the favour of God:

(1) Prophetic Offering: The widow of Zarephath and the Shunamite woman enjoyed divine favour by reason of what they gave to prophets Elijah and Elisha (1Kgs 17:10–24; 4:1–37). Their acts of kindness provoked God's kindness to them and their needs were supernaturally met.

(2) Giving to the Poor: When you give to the needy, you provoke the favour of God. “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again” (Pro 19:17). They are all around you. Give to meet their needs when you notice them, don't wait until you are begged or asked.

(3) Giving to your Parents: Don't  shy away from your responsibility to your parents because you thought they are witches and wizards behind your situation? Your negligence to take care of them is the reason behind your predicament. Your gift to them irrespective of their wealth or wickedness will provoke the favour of God.

PRAYER: The Lord shall raise and make you a blessing to people around you in Jesus name.
