TEXT: "So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed" (1Sam 30:9).
One of the steps that facilitate outstanding testimonies in our lives is to act on God's instructions. What is the need of asking God for a way out of your situation as pointed out yesterday, when you are not ready to act on what He tells you to do?
David enquired and in today's anchor scripture the Bible says: "So David went..." because God told him to go. Can you remember what Jesus' mother told the servants? She said: "Whatsoever He tells you, do it" (John 2:5). If you will see your testimonies this month, then be ready to act on God's instructions. David acted exactly as he was instructed by God. If you and I will be testimonials this month and beyond, we must obey God’s instructions given us when we pray.
Obedience to God's instruction as commanded is the trigger for obtaining any desired testimony. Not just obedience but prompt obedience because delayed obedience is equal to disobedience. Prompt obedience yields faster results and it has to be done as commanded.
However, prayer and fasting guarantees fulfilment of prophecies (1Kings 18:41-44). We pray and fast prophecies to speedy fulfilment. There are certain oppositions that will never surrender except by prayer and fasting (Matt 17:21).
Elijah spoke as he was commanded by God, yet, he did not wait doing nothing for the prophetic word to be fulfilled. Rather, he engaged in spiritual warfare and prayers for its fulfilment (1Kings 18). I pray for you today, as you wait on the Lord through this inspired 14 days fast, every good thing prophesied on you hitherto shall come to pass speedily in Jesus name!
DAY 8 PRAYER POINTS:
1: Father, in the name of Jesus, I declare that before this fasting and prayer is over, my testimony will manifest.
2: Father, I declare that every delay to my miracle is removed today, in Jesus name.
GOOD NEWS:
I will like to pray with you next week Wednesday 13th & Thursday 14th between 12pm - 3pm (Nigeria time). As instructed by God, you are to list out 9 things that you want God to do for you between now and December this year and pray about them daily till the end of this fast. As it is our 9th year anniversary as Devotional, we will like to come into agreement with you for the manifestation of those 9 things. Details in the subsequent devotion.
DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I shall continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
