TEXT: "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Heb 13:5).

"That ye be not slothful, but follower of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises (Heb 6:12).

Following the steps of those who have obtained their testimonies is the fastest way to obtain your own testimony. We have been examining the steps that David took when he faced the most difficult situation of his life, what he did that brought a testimony in his life. Since God is not a respeter of persons, if we do same, if we take same steps, we will obtain our own testimonies. 

One of the forces that was at work in the life of David during his trials is: "Having the consciousness of God's Presence." You must be conscious that God is with you in every situation. He is the God of good times and the bad times. You have to be conscious of this to obtain your testimonies the way David obtained his. God lives in you, His word is in you, the Holy Spirit lives inside you, so you're never alone in that situation. 

God responded to David when David enquired of the way out. "And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? AND HE (God) ANSWERED HIM, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all" (1Sam 30:8). For God to give you His word is as well as He is giving you His Presence. God's word and God's Presence are inseparable. You cannot separate a man from his word. God's word is equal to His Presence. David knew this and this gave him confidence to take the step he was commanded to take. He already had the confidence of the favorable outcome before embarking on the instruction. 

Beloved child of God, God is with you. You are not alone in that battle. He said He will never leave you nor forsake you. God is with you no matter the situation you are in right now. You can to be confident of this and stop fidgeting before the devil. The good news is that you are coming out of that situation with your testimonies. It will surely end in praise, in Jesus name. 

However, one of the benefits of prayer and fasting is that it brings liberty from captivity. It loosens the bands of wickedness and breaks every yoke of captivity from one's life (Isaiah 58:6). This simply means, fasting enforces our liberty from captivity and deliverance from bondage. If you are in any bondage or in any captivity right now or you are being tormented by the forces of darkness, you can be free by fasting and prayer.

I therefore proclaim your liberty from all oppressions of the wicked before the end of this fast, in Jesus Name.

1: Father, in the name of Jesus, I decree my liberty from all bands of wickedness today.

2: Father, let every yoke of sin, sickness, sorrow, pain, disappointment, etc, be broken off my life today, in Jesus Name.
