EFFECTS OF DISCOURAGEMENT

TEXT: "And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way" (Num 21:4) 

If testimonies will be your experience this month and always, you must deal with the enemy called discouragement. Discouragement is a tool in the hand of the devil to hinder the children of God from experiencing their desired testimonies. It is an arrow the devil uses to bring down his victims. But you shall be exempted, in Jesus name.

Every act of suicide today, if you find out very well, it is rooted in discouragement. Discouragement has no respect for title, name, or position. Discouragement, if not managed can graduate to depression. Depression is what leads to hypertension and hypertension results to untimely death. I pray this morning that you and I will not fall victims of this devilish plague, in Jesus name.

The truth is that nobody get discouraged when things are going on well with him/her. Every discouragement comes because of the way things are. Today's anchor scripture, the B part says “...and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way” (Num. 21:4b). Did you see that? This means that they were discouraged because of the Way the journey was going which was not what they bargained for. Beloved, please guard against this arrow from the pit of hell if you will experience testimony over that challenge in your life.

And do you know what? When you are discouraged, you are likely to speak against God. The reason is because the spirit of discouragement will never let you see what God has done or doing, but what He has not done. When you're discouraged, you see everyone around you as a suspect. Has it ever happened to you?

When you're discouraged, you don’t appreciate yourself and until you appreciate yourself, nobody will appreciate you. If you don’t appreciate yourself, you will depreciate in no time. When you are discouraged, you can’t hear from God and if you cannot hear from God, you will hear from the devil. When you are discouraged, you devalue your gift. Until your gift is valuable to you, it will never be valuable to others. When you are discouraged, you will find yourself angry with everyone around you. And the Bible says that the anger (wrath) of a man works not the righteousness of God (Jam 1:20).

I want you to learn from king David who overcame discouragement by remembering the MANY THINGS that God has done for him and not the FEW THINGS He hasn’t done. He said: "Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered" (Ps 40:5). No wonder he was testimony personified. You are free, in Jesus name. 

PRAYER: Every arrow of discouragement that is fired at you to stop your turnaround testimonies is destroyed today by the blood of Jesus, in Jesus name!

DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I shall continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
