TEXT: "And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water" (1Sam 30:11)

David's situation was a typical example of how to provoke a testimony. We have examined some of the steps he took that brought his testimony to pass. These include: (1) He encouraged himself in the Lord. (2) He asked God for the step to take to come out of his situation. (3) He acted on God's instruction.

What more step can we learn from his story?

In today's anchor scripture, the Bible says that as David and the six hundred men were pursuing the Amalekites, they came across a man collapsed in the wilderness. It would be easy and logical to ignore this man because they had a much greater mission in pursing the Amalekites. But David and his men showed unexpected kindness and they gave him bread and he ate, and they let him drink water.

In Galatians 6 verse 10, the Bible says: "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith." And in line with this, verse 7 confirms that everyone will reap what he or she sows.

Beloved, one sure way to ensure you do not miss your destiny helpers and your testimonies is to operate the principle of sowing and reaping. This means that if you want to reap hospitality and favour, you must be willing to sow hospitality and favour. Hebrews 13:2 says: "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." God may sometimes send us help dressed in undesirable disguises. They may come as servants, strangers, enemy or liabilities and problems on which we may need to spend our hard earned financial, material or mental resources.

David's destiny helper, who led him to the Amalekites from whom they were able
to recover all the loot and people carried away, including David's two wives, was an Egyptian servant of an Amalekite, whose master left behind because he fell sick. David's key to gaining the trust and help of this young Egyptian was his kindness. David could have killed the young man, or refused to show him kindness, describing him as part of the enemy, and in so doing miss the divine help God had ordained through this unlikely vessel.

A lot of times God would send help to us disguised as a liability or potential liability, dressed in rags of poverty and need; and many have looked at them with disdain and ultimately missed the opportunity to experience their testimonies. You will not miss such opportunity again, in Jesus name. Show some kindness today.

Fasting and prayer on the other hand gives you God’s focus for your life. It is a major key to hearing God’s voice. We need focus on God more than anything. The world we live in is working overtime to distract us, to entice us, to win our hearts and minds, our focus, and to determine our vision. Fasting cuts out the world so we can tune into God. The grace to carry on this 14 days spiritual exercise that we shall round up on Thursday 14th, is released on you in Jesus name!

DAY 11 PRAYER POINTS:
1: Father, in the name of Jesus, turn my captivity around like a dream of the night (Ps 126:1).
2: Father, in the name of Jesus, by your grace, terminate every disgrace in and around me this season.

DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I shall continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
