TEXT: "And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship" (Luke 5:3)
Before I proceed with other secrets to sudden intervention in Exodus 14, I want us to explore another secret in the story of Peter that I briefly mentioned yesterday.
Luke chapter 5, verses 1 through 11 contained a story where Jesus asks Peter for Him to use his boat. A multitude of people were following Jesus to hear Him. Jesus got into Peter’s boat and pushed off away and then began to share the gospel with them. After Jesus finished preaching to the people, He asked Peter whether they had caught any fish? Peter said: "We fished all night and caught nothing." Jesus then told him to throw his nets into the water for a catch. Peter began to reason, saying: "we have fished all night and have caught nothing, nevertheless as you have said, I will obey" (Lk 5:5 paraphrased). Peter’s nets began to fill with fish and were so full that they began to break and he called for other boats to come and help him. They caught so many fish that their boats began to sink. What a sudden turnaround!
The first lesson I want us to learn from this story is that Jesus has power to cause supernatural abundance to flow into our lives against all natural logic. Jesus has power to turn things around suddenly. Peter gave Jesus his boat to use so Jesus could share the gospel to the multitudes. In return, Jesus blessed Peter with boats loaded with freshly caught fish. He will do same for you this month. What have you given for the sake of the gospel? It is not lost, it shall return to you in hundredfold, in Jesus name.
"Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught" (Lk 5:4).
This statement came to Peter after Jesus used his boat, not before. Did you see what I just saw? Jesus didn't talk to other fishermen after using Peter's boat, he only talked to the one whose boat was used. The implication is that sudden intervention and turnaround in life is determined by what you are willing to part with for the sake of the gospel. It is your seed that determines your turnaround in life. Peter enjoyed sudden turnaround in his fishing business because he parted with his boat. As you read this message this morning, what is the boat God is asking you to release? Your obedience, like Peter, is what will determine His response to you.
Just like Peter gave his boat to help Jesus preach the gospel, you and some lovers of MTD have given and are still giving financial resources to keep MTD on. The same way Jesus abundantly blessed Peter for letting Jesus use his boat to share the gospel, He will also do the same in your life this month. Peter was blessed with a tremendous catch of fish that was supernatural, same will happen for you this month and always, in Jesus name.
PRAYER: I see a boat-sinking and net-breaking order of harvest locating you suddenly, in Jesus name.
