TEXT: "Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God" (1Sam 17:36)

We give glory to God for His faithfulness towards us this month. We thank Him for protection and preservation all through the month. May His name be praised forever, in Jesus name. 

I am bold to say that the Holy Spirit really taught us this month on Sudden Intervention. The impact of these teachings shall remain with us for life, in Jesus name. However, if you haven't witness your own sudden intervention concerning that issue of concern, I want to assure you that it will still come. Just be expectant. That the month ends today doesn't mean His intervention in our lives has ended.

Let's look at yet one more key that provokes sudden intervention as we wrap it up today.

David enjoyed God's backing in his lifetime because he was a man of many secrets. He traded the secret of praise and enjoyed God's Presence continously all through his lifetime. He said: "Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments" (Ps 119:164). No wonder he carried God's Presence. 

However, looking at today's anchor scripture, there is another secret that provoked God's intervention in his life, that made him to get the head of Goliath cheaply. What is this secret? It is recounting the past wonders of God. He told King Saul what God did with bear and lion that came against his flock of sheep in the bush. He acknowledged the wonders of God in the past. He boasted before the King of the wonders of God in his life and God stood to defend His word in his life - Goliath went down.

Do you allow what you are going through to blind you to what God has done in the past? When you fail to acknowledge what God did in time past, you will be denied of what He will do next. If you fail to acknowledge what God did in the past in your life, you're depriving Him from stretching His Hand further in your life. As the song writer rightly wrote, David, the young boy counted his blessings, he named them one by one and God gave him the head of Goliath. As we start a new month few hours from now, I admonish you to sit down and take account of what God has done for you from January till today and like David, look at that challenge in the face and say to it: "My God is Bigger than you!"

This is where we shall draw the curtains for the month of February.
