TEXT: "And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day" (Gen 32:24)

Sudden intervention as pointed out yesterday is to be provoked and not just to be wished for. We must be individually ready to set our "suddenlies" in motion from this month. A lot of people today are wishing for things to happen rather than taking responsibility. In today's anchor scripture, Jacob took responsibility to provoke his sudden change. It is time to provoke your own turnaround.

To provoke means:

- To incite into action
- To arouse or activate into action
- To annoy a person into taking action
- To stimulate into action
- Etc.

God's intervention is like a man who inserts his newly acquired sim card into his phone and tries to make calls, the call couldn't get through because the new sim card has not been activated. Until the sim card is activated, it remains valueless and useless. The sim card may be loaded with what it takes to connect to the other person, but until it is activated, it remains invalid. Why do I use this illustration? You might be a christian for several decades, that doesn't guarantee your turnarounds. Until you know what to do and do it, your turnarounds remains invalid. So, it is vital to know how provoke or activate our sudden intervention.

There's something I want us to learn from the story of Jacob above on how to incite God into action over that issues of concern in our lives. Looking at the story of Jacob, one striking word that caught my attention is that the Bible says: "And Jacob was left alone." Beloved, in your journey in life there are times you need to be left alone with God. You need to be away from noise and from people that don't add value but distraction to your life. This time is the time to dig it out with God like Jacob. You must come to a point in your life that you don't take no for an answer just like Jacob did.

Read it below:

"And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed" (Gen 32:24-28). That is an attitude of a man who is not ready to accept his condition as his portion. He gave his situation a serious approach and he escaped the reproach.

Beloved, you must give that issue of concern in your life a serious approach so as to escape the reproach. Set out time with God, away from people and situation that could cause a distraction to you. This is not the time to say Pastor, pray for me. No! Press into God like Jacob did. I bet you, you can't  leave God's presence on such an adventure without a story to tell.

Take step now!
