Gen 18:4 "Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and REST yourselves under the tree:"

Let me start by saying every statement of scriptures is loaded with amazing truth, powerful enough to deliver one from the assault of hell. The Holy Ghost has
hitherto helped us to look at different meanings of the word REST as mentioned in the Bible. One of the places where Rest was mentioned was in our anchor scripture for the month and it says: "And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountain of Ararat" (Gen 8:4).

Never forget that the prophetic focus for the month of July in the MTD Family is "All Round Rest." The implication of this prophetic focus is, there is no limit to what you can receive from God according to your understanding of the mystery of seventh number in scriptures.

What is the spiritual meaning of Rest as we look at one more today?

4: Rest means: "To lean on someone or something." For instance, we usually say: "Rest your back on that tree." The meaning of that statement is to lean on the tree. Leaning on this tree brings you relief and eases you of stress, right? Yes, leaning on the said tree brings comfort to your body.

Hear what the Holy Ghost revealed to me using this simple illustration: He said you need God to lean on. Attempting to lean on yourself because of your skill, talent, connection, beauty, certificate, etc, will cut you off from the flow of God's grace. You can't find rest leaning on self.

You need God to lean on. Man will fail you. God cannot and will never fail you. Man will disappoint you but not God. The Bible says in Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." When you lean on Him, you are sure He'll take you to your destination.

PRAYER: As you lean on God from today, no more disappointment in your life, in the name of Jesus.
