Acts 8:1 "... And at that time there was a GREAT PERSECUTION against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles."
I can now fully understand what James meant when he said: "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience" (Jam 1:2-3). Looking at the story of the disciples in Acts chapter 8, my submission is
that; persecutions, trials and challenges are not to break us down but they are raw materials that cause the release of the power of God in our life for supernatural strength.
The disciples faced severe persecutions and opposition, but instead of giving up on their mission and assignment, they continued and this led to the demonstration of the power of God through Deacon Philip in the city of Samaria. So, the release of power is for those who in the face of severe persecutions and sufferings refuse to give up on God or their dreams.
Jesus siad: "Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me" ( Lk 22:28-29). To experience power, continue to serve God no matter the situation in your life. Continue against all odds. Never lose sight on God no matter how intense the situation is. The devil will want you to give up in order for you to lose the power. But refuse to give in.
My counsel to you today is, don't allow what you are going through to go through you. Don't give up on God and your dream. Your continuity irrespective of what you are going through is the secret to the release of power.
PRAYER: My prayer for you today is grace to continue with your assignment against opposition and persecution shall rest on you today in Jesus name.
