Acts 1:12 "Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey."

There are secrets to the power of God. Some scholars believe that the acts of the apostles should have been called the acts of the Holy Spirit. In this book of the Bible are practical
demonstrations of the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the apostles. I'm taking time to study this book this month and there are secrets to power that the Holy Ghost has opened my eyes to see. I want us to look at some of these secrets from today.

Now, you will notice in verse 8 of today's text, the disciples received the promise of the power. "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:8).

The disciples took a notable step to obtain this promise after the ascension of the Lord. What step? The Bible says: "They returned to Jerusalem." This is a significant step into the school of power. If you must experience power in life, this step must not be overlooked.

Jerusalem is a symbol of the house of God, that is, the Presence of God. They returned to God's Presence. They returned to the house of God. They did not return to club houses or return to their homes to sleep. They returned to the house of God agonizing for the release of power, a picture of what king David did in Ps 63:1.

Beloved, your environment determines the power that will be at work in you. Is the house of God (Church) a place you go only when it's convenient? Are you so occupied with activities that you don't have time in God's Presence? To operate in power like the disciples, return to His Presence. Don't abandon the assemblies of God's people. Create time daily to have fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Don't be carried away with activities that will not profit you.

Behold, how good and pleasant for brethren to dwell together in unity. It is like the precious ointment upon the head.... (Ps 133:1-2). That is power. Return to the fellowship of God's people and not to the circle of wrong people that will take you farther away from God.

PRAYER: Every manipulation of the devil to deny you the power of God this month is terminated today in Jesus name.
