JOYFUL PRAISE

TEXT: "Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is Any Merry? Let Him Sing Psalms" (James 5:13).

Today, I want to quickly address a vital issue regarding praise as we proceed. Have you ever wondered why sometimes or most of the time you praised God and yet your desires are not delivered? I think we need to find out why? From scripture we discovered that praise is powerful that those who genuinely engaged it returned with victory. For instance, Paul and Silas in prison (Acts 16:25-30). But why is my praise not producing miracle for me you may ask? Beloved, not all praises carry power. The truth is that you can sing without actually praising God. You can sing mournfully. But we are told in today's anchor scripture that the person that is qualified to sing praise that produces results is the person that is merry.

The only condition that makes your praise powerful, results oriented and acceptable is merriment. Another word for merry is joy. If you're not joyful when you're singing to God, your praise is a waste. It's a waste because it is only when your praise is acceptable to God that your life enjoys its blessings. Are you praising God joyfully or mournfully? Lots of people today murmur in praise which makes their praises powerless. Is this your case? It is time to praise God joyfully regardless of what you are going through. You cannot get God's attention when you murmur but you can get His attention when you praise Him joyfully.

If there is no joy in your heart, your praise loses its power and it will only be a noise in heaven. The Bible says "Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; AND GLADNESS OF HEART,.. (Isaiah 30:29). Don't allow sorrow to take root in your heart because it will stop your praise from ascending to heaven. Sorrow blocks one's access to God. Guard against it. Stay joyful irrespective of what goes on in your life and watch God step in to that situation!

PRAYER: I cast out every sorrowful spirit fired against you to stop your testimonies, in Jesus name!

DAILY CONFESSION: This year 2022, I am more than conqueror by the Power of the Holy Spirit therefore I shall continue to celebrate all through the year, hallelujah!
