TEXT: "And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand" (Gen 39:4)
It is important we know how to sustain the oil of favour on our life. That is, what does it take to live under perpetual favour? God doesn't want us to enjoy His favour for a season but at all times. When you know what to do and you keep doing it, you will long enjoy God's favour. Joseph is one biblical example that live in continuous favour of God. We shall use him as a case study.
To sustain the oil of favour:
(1) Be faithful: The Bible says: “A faithful man shall abound with blessings; but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent" (Prov 28:20). Joseph was a faithful man and he enjoyed favour all his life. He said “How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God? (Gen 39:9). That is a language of a faithful man. A faithful man will not live perpetually in sin. As a married man/woman, be faithful to your spouse. As a worker, be faithful. As a businessman/woman, be faithful.
(2) Be connected: After God blessed Joseph in Egypt, He did not forget his root. A branch that is cut off from the main tree is bound to die a natural death. When God blesses you don’t forget your root. To all who have supported MTD mandate in one way or another, receive your rewards now in Jesus name.
(3) Forgive: Joseph said: "And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth...” (Gen 45:7). Despite all that his brethren did to him, even when he had opportunity to revenge, he did not. Forgive those who offended you so that your fountain of favour will not dry off.
PRAYER: The oil of favour on your life shall not run dry, in Jesus name!
