TEXT: "Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows" (Psalm 45:7)

The favour of God upon a man puts him above others. Favour has the ability to make the last to become the first. It has the ability to reveal the quality in a man that was initially hidden. It places one above and not beneath. Favour makes the job impossible for others until the man of favour arrives.

However, we need to know the access key to favour as revealed in today's anchor scripture. Jesus loved righteousness and hated wickedness, therefore, oil of gladness (favour) was put on Him. Hear me! It's your love for righteousness that guarantees the favour that will put you above your fellows. Saying no to corruption, evil associations, and wrong habits is righteousness in the context of the above text.

Noah Was the only righteous man in his generation and God favored him (Read Gen 6). Also righteousness is to be in tune with God at all times even if others around you are going the other way. Jesus was always in tune with God. No wonder He was favoured. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all others things shall be added unto you by favour and not by your labour.

When you seek God you will see good. What guarantees the ever flowing favour of God upon your life is your love for righteousness in the midst of unrighteousness. When your greatest desire is to affect the kingdom of God and the people around you and to stand for truth and justice, God will pour the oil of favour on you.

PRAYER: Receive grace for tireless pursuit of righteousness in Jesus name.
