As we draw the curtain today on the subject of favour, let us conclude with part two on how oil of favour can be sustained. To sustain the oil favour as pointed out yesterday: (1) Be faithful. (2) Be connected to your root. (3) Forgive.

It is important we know how to sustain the oil of favour on our life. That is, what does it take to live under perpetual favour? God doesn't want us to enjoy His favour for a season but at all times. When you know what to do and you keep doing it, you will long enjoy God's favour. Joseph is one biblical example that live in continuous favour of God. We shall use him as a case study.

Giving lifestyle has a way of provoking God's favour. We have examples in the Bible where giving lifestyle of individuals provoked God's unusual miracle in their lives (I will mention two of them in point 1 below). Giving has the capacity to bring you before great men by favour.

The realm of favour is the realm where things are simply added to you. When God favours you, you will enjoy addition of good things. I want you to know that favour is to be received, it is never a function of labour. Labour can never and will never be equal to favour. Today's anchor scripture is the story of the children of Israel who laboured in Egypt for 430 years with nothing to show, but one night of God’s favour transferred the entire wealth of Egypt into their hands. That is what God is set to do for you this Friday.

Joseph found grace in the sight of Portipher his master. The grace mentioned above means "undeserved favour." It is undeserved because there was no physical input from him that warranted this favour. He did not play down on anyone either to gain it. God's Presence just settled on his life by favour and this magneted the favour from his master. This shall be your experience from now on.

Having known what favour is and the importance of it, let’s now look at the principles that will attract it into our life.

(1) GODLINESS: One of the principles that attracts favour to us is godly lifestyle. When your life is void of worldliness, God puts on you His favour. God will only compass the godly not the worldly with favour as with a shield. Men like Joseph, Job, and Daniel in the Bible were lifted by favour because they stood for godliness. Joseph said: "Shall I do this great wickedness and sin against God?" (Gen 39:9).

TEXT: "And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti" (Esther 2:17)

From the word of God, we understand that God always blesses the righteous and also protects him with the weapon of favour. From scriptures, we understand that man is not destined by God to labour 'all his life out' to meet 'all his life's needs.' God patterns our lives not only to labour but also to enjoy His favour. Today's anchor scripture reveals the importance God places on favour. It emphasises that there is a time appointed by God for His people to be favoured. In the Morning Tea Devotional Family, the time appointed for our favour is this month. If you have to labour and labour before you achieve things in your life, it is time you cry out to God to decorate you with favour.
